The first payment of the CAIP program was issued in July 2022. Now the second instalment of the quarterly payment begins in October 2022.
A family of four will receive an average of $186.25 in Ontario, $269.75 in Alberta, $208 in Manitoba, and $275.35 in Saskatchewan on October 14th.
Moreover, rural and small communities will also receive an extra 10%.

Before 2021, it was known as Climate Action Incentive and was a refundable tax credit claimed each year with personal income tax returns.
However, now it is paid quarterly, starting in July 2022. Here, the beneficiary will automatically receive benefits if they are eligible.
Conditions of receiving Climate Incentive Payment?
On the day one of the payment month and the last day of the previous month:
- You must be a resident of Manitoba, Ontario, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.
- Meanwhile, in the same time frame, you must also follow at least one of these conditions:
- Must be at least 19 years old
- Have a spouse or common-law partner
- Be a parent who currently resides with or has previously resided with your child.
